The RISC-V is an open source hardware alternative to Intel and AMD. Originally it was made at the University of California, Berkeley where it was put under a royalty free open source license. This open source CPU is a great thing to see as an alternative to the big tech CPUs with their backdoors to government spying agencies.

There are a few open source motherboards available out there. They are quite promising when it comes to making even more hardware open source.
