Open Source Revolution

Strategies of the OSR

Boycotts

Boycott Big Tech companies. Don't use their products or services.

P2P Networks

Simultaneously switch over to P2P Decentralised networks.

Open Source Software

Switch to FOSS/OSS to replace proprietary software.

Stopping Surveillance

We can hamper government and big tech surveillance by encouraging the use of encryption, privacy browsers and P2P networks.

Long Term Effect on Big Tech

Big Tech starts to lose money and data. Less money and data means their large servers for web service and storage become redundant. They are forced to close them down and delete data. Combined with the increasing use of FOSS and P2P this reduces their hold on the internet.

By doing this we will gain ground against Big Tech and will break their monopoly on the internet. We will take back control from corporations.

Helping The People

We have to educate people on the dangers of surveillance and tech monopolies. Give them basic tech literacy and show them how to make the transition to FOSS and P2P. Those who join will likely save a lot of money that they would have otherwise been spending on big tech software, hardware and services.

As more people join the Open Source Revolution they will become harder to track on the internet. It will become more difficult for oppressive governments to gather intel on their own citizens and soon their grip on the internet will loosen too.

We will take back control from the corrupt and the greedy and put power back into the hands of the people.
