What is the Open Source Revolution?

The Open Source Revolution is a movement to create a parallel society that embraces freedom and privacy by using open source software and hardware. Long term the movement will replace the need for proprietary software and planned obsolescence.

Principles of the OSR:

  1. Right To Repair
  2. Transparency
  3. No Tracking Unless Explicit Consent Given
  4. Free Open Source Software over Paid Proprietary Software
  5. Free Media (Creative Commons, Fair Use, & Public Domain)

Goals of The Open Source Revolution:

  1. Make FOSS/OSS and Hardware more popular than Proprietary SW/HW with individual users/customers
  2. Make FOSS/OSS and Hardware more popular than Proprietary SW/HW with public and private organisations, such as schools, libraries, universities, small businesses and corporations.
  3. Weaken the hold of corporate monopolies and stop them from selling our data.
  4. Prevent surveillance by oppressive governments.
