The Open Source Revolution Begins!
I think by now everyone has seen the amazing videos coming out of social media since late September 2026. Skateboarding in Modern Warfare 2, playing COD Zombies in Skyrim and shooting Creepers with an M240 in Minecraft.
The most important part of this is how its achievable through readily accessible programming languages like Rust and Advanced "AI" Algorithms.
In earlier news the Minecraft Legacy Console Edition was leaked and is now playable with other versions of the game. It's even got modding compatibility now! The release of the legacy console edition put an end to any plans for making Minecraft into a "child-friendly" heavily controlled and monetised game.
The older video games that we've enjoyed trough the 2000s and 2010s are coming back in force because they have been made open source with the help of these new open source technologies. Video games can be easily decompiled and spliced together and just like that no more paying for overpriced old games, no more "licensing", no more EULA "agreements" and no more ransoming what you should rightfully own by purchase!
The Open Source Revolution has finally begun in earnest and there is NOTHING they can do to stop it bar shutting down the entire internet.
Corporate greed in the video games industry has been defeated.
The rapidly forming mass surveillance grid will be next on the chopping block as anti-surveillance technologies and practices become more sophisticated.
I'm so happy to see it happening and I'll most certainly be doing my part to preserve and archive the brilliant software and code that enabled this victory.
Lets hope there will be many more victories like this one. There will be no more closed source and proprietary exploitation of the people. There will be no more corporate greed! There will be no more surveillance!
The future is open source!
